Zombies and life....

So after doing work on my dissertation I fell like I have the writing bug, so I thought I would give my blog a little update. I am already into week 2 of 4th year and I am going to be honest I am feeling pretty productive, ad on top of everything. I have given myself aims this year to organise myself produce better  final outcomes at a much higher standard (meaning to post some final outcomes from last year just have other commitments right now). So with that and dissertation i have also found myself getting into twitter (follow me?) and fine it is a brilliant resoucerse. I use to really not get it but i am finding out so much and i feel really on top of quiet a lot of things (info wise) and i am really enjoying it. My personal product i am looking at dyslexia and trying to look at the positives of the disability while raising the confidents of those who have it. I have found out some really interesting things while researching the background of dyslexia but hopefully that will be communicated in my final outcomes which will be posted.

Also excitement struck today as i realised tat the walking dead is returning for a seconded season and i am excited about this because...... i thought it had been cancelled pick up again and then cancelled again but i was apparently wrong. So apart from clearly living in a hole for the last few months (I know his doesn't work with he whole twitter obsessed thing but i am follow designers mostly and not the CW) they have realised trailers here is one to get you zombie fans excited,

Doctor Who, Tv and silly comments

So today on twitter I came across a link to an article in the express there is it is http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/269034/Doctor-Who-What-the-hell-is-going-on-, really short so give it a quick blitz. Anyway it raises a point that I have raised before Doctor Who as much as I love it was no where near the standard of American TV production. If you think of it as one of the Uk's most viewed programmes and then compare to the standard of in the USA dramas that aren't even main viewing in the states. Having said that Steven Moffat has already gained my respect and admiration when writing 'Blink' during Russell T Davis rain of the production and I was very exited When Steven Moffat took over the production and have felt that everything has just up it's game especially the script. The idea that it is too complicates is not how it the new series should be seen. 


 As a production the style of script becomes to higher standard and challenges people they find it too difficult I really think that if the standard of Doctor Who keep progressing the way it is then other Uk Television productions might find it self at a point where they have to up there game. The higher the standard of production in Doctor Who the better the i say and keep going Steven Moffat because this is one of the best sci-fi's on british Tv in a while hopefully everyone else in british broadcasting will see it as a challenging and perform at the same level.

Oh Dear.....

it has been a while but I have a plan, I have decided as a way to up my game I was going to do a couple tutorials from Computer Arts magazine, so this is my first one from issues 180, Create 3D type with Repousse.

So quiet pleased and learnt something new, Chosse F and S For Feline Sensations By the way, just in case you were wondering.

Another rework

First off, do you like the new look, it my own thing and it is a kitty cat, i keeps me happy. :D
Anyway here is the second rework for the logo for 'Roots' going to do a quick branding write up as well.

I think i prefer it from the last one i did, makes more scents.

Reworking the logo

So after a bit of feedback from the group I had another go at the logo and here what I got, I am not sure about it at all but I will see what the guys think.

So here we go...

Last few days have been interesting, I am felling quiet good about everything just now. quiet happy with it all and most off all I feel in control, always a plus which means I am enjoying the work, I know how much there is to do and i know how much I have to juggle but everything seems to be slotting into place. We got a new brief on Thursday/ Friday just past and I feel like I made a pretty solid break though although it is in written formate so I am not 100% that it will be strong enough to communicated what I need it to. Plus the creative criticism I got from the table today I feel I have jungle and some I am just going to take the risk. I will explain it all later in full, but not yet, feel like I would be showing my cards.

The other thing was the motion graphic type I have been and now shown, I know where there are problems with it but all in all I am quiet happy with so I thought I would share it with you all. I was trying to build atmosphere with it so I think I did that, I think I might do a wee bit more work on it in my spare time because I know I can make it better. Still happy with what is there though and before watching it just to help me out, if you could turn off your lights and put on a pair of head phones that would be great!

I am aware of the 'Natonal' instead of 'National' but hey done now.

I am finding twitter a bit addictive just now as well at first I didn't understand the point but I am now finding it a hub of information. I love it, also might start doing a Vlog, but I am not sure yet I would need to figure out what I would film with or maybe get a web cam, a good one. And i am shocked at the amount of writting i have done today.

Roots

With our group going for it now we now have a new name for a product 'Roots'. and here is the first logo idea bit scruffy but that might appeal just need to see what everyone else thinks now.
